Are you passionate about supporting young minds and making a real difference in the classroom? We?re looking for a dedicated, energetic, and caring Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team!
What you?ll be doing:
Providing in-class support for a delightful, friendly, and talkative Year 8 pupil who has a diagnosis of autism and undergoing assessment for ADHD. She has a heightened state of anxiety that leads to traits of PDA. She is motivated by curiosity and loves practical subjects such as cooking, PE, and outdoor education.
Supporting the class teacher to promote positive behaviour
Delivering consistent academic, pastoral, and behavioural support
You will be part of a key team around the young person in order to maintain consistent support, communication and updated support plans.
What we?re looking for:
Experience of working as a 1-2-1 Support/TA, experience in a SEN setting
Experience of supporting pupils with special educational needs
Someone who is resilient and can enforce strict boundaries and consistency at all times
A team player who will uphold the mission, values and goals of High Peak School

Who are we?
Our specialist multi-disciplinary team of leaders, carers, therapists and educationalists work seamlessly together. They teach and proactively support pupils who have been subjected to adverse childhood experiences, including trauma, toxic stress and associated mental wellbeing difficulties, aiming to break the cycle of adversity. Children and young people may also come to us because they are challenged by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and dyspraxia or moderate and specific learning difficulties.
High Peak School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
