Samsung Networks is an industry leader in Open RAN network deployments with commercial deployments in US, Asia and European markets We are expanding our Service portfolio to include System Integration Services and as a result we will be creating a new team to lead these activities. As part of our expansion in Europe, Samsung Networks UK is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated ORAN Solution Architect to coordinate the delivery of E2E System Integration results for a Tier 1 customer in Europe. You will act as a Technical Subject Matter Expert for the RAN Application and hardware of the ORAN Solution commencing in Q1 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who can demonstrate a consistent record in delivering complex ORAN Telecommunications Solutions and has extensive experience in creating and maintaining highly satisfied customers. This role is based in Reading but will require travel to other project and customer locations in the UK and EU. Role and Responsibilities Your key responsibilities Responsible for the ORAN Application and Radio Hardware Release Management planning and alignment for all ORAN application and hardware aspects. Ensure that all of the Customers key requirements are included in the agreed Release in order to fulfil the project delivery achievements Manage ORAN Application and Radio Hardware Release risk and issues with the Customer and 3rd party vendors ensuring that acceptable workable Solutions are provided Guide the ORAN application supplier to align with the customers' required Security requirements and ensure alignment of requirements with infrastructure architects Provide Technical support to the Samsung SI Design team during the Design process Be the main point of contact for Application and Radio Hardware technical discussions Work closely with the wider Architects to ensure the HLD and LLDs are fully aligned with the End to End Solution scope Build a strong working relationship with the Customer Domain owner and other 3rd party hardware suppliers Act as the Subject Matter Authority for any critical L3/L4 Technical discussions and provide a workable Software release plan to mitigate critical Product defects Maintain a high level of expertise in ORAN specifications and provide guidance to wider System Integration team on related matters What we need for this role To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes: Educated to Degree Level, preferably in Telecoms, Electronics or Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience in a relevant technical role in the telecom/IT sector A deep understanding of the ORAN network architecture and designs for all technologies (2G/4G/5G) and specifications Consistent track record in the delivery of complex large scale multi vendor System Integration Solution Release processes and documentation Previous experience of designing multi vendor network virtualisation infrastructure solutions such as Open RAN Validated customer and collaborator managements skills Exceptional communicator both internally and towards the customer Excellent organisational skills and an ability to anticipate customer’s needs and act accordingly Excellent level of presentation, communication and planning skills. Ability to prepare & deliver complex technical concepts to a high standard within tight timescales. Fluent in spoken and written English Excellent documentation writing skills, communication and presentation skills Exceptional ability to navigate large and complex organisations to build relationships and influencing capabilities What does success look like? Success in delivering the ORAN Application and Radio Hardware Release Plan on time and to a high standard - you will have developed and agreed a solid Release Management process with the Customer and ORAN 3rd party Vendors, structuring the Release governance and developing the means to communicate timeline adherence to ensure documentation is delivered on time as per the Project breakthroughs.
