An exciting opportunity on a busy level 1 Major Trauma Unit for a Ward Receptionist to join our motivated and diverse team who thrive to deliver high quality safe care.
We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, has good time management and is able to work in a busy environment. You must be excellent in written and oral communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team or autonomously.
The post holder will also be required to provide a professional, efficient and comprehensive reception service on the Unit. Staff are expected to be courteous and considerate at all times and have excellent customer care skills.
The role requires that you are able to liaise closely with patients and their carers, health care professionals and other colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to provide a professional, efficient and comprehensive reception service within the Major Trauma unit.
Fulfilling all necessary reception, clerical, administrative and general tasks required to facilitate and record patients' treatment using paper-based health records and information technology. Staff are expected to be courteous and considerate at all times and have excellent customer care skills.
After training, the post holder will be required to use the hospital systems including Care flow, Nervecentre and digital health records to locate and accurately record the movement of patients' medical records, ensuring all relevant documentation is prepared and made available within the case notes and that all admission duties are carried out to the correct guidelines.
You may be required to attend to any other duties which may be required.
Please note that the successful applicant will be required to work alternative shifts which include weekends.

* Education in basic numeracy and literacy
* Evidence of personal development in previous employment
* Competent at using current hospital computer systems such as Notis, Careflow and Nervecentre
* Experience in keeping Nervecentre up to date to assist the smooth running of the ward
* Completed Display Screen Equipment training
* Nationally recognised qualification in basic literacy and numeracy
