Job Introduction
BBC Scotland News is the nation's leading news service on television, radio, online, and social media. We are looking for online journalists who are passionate about Scottish news and who would like to join our busy newsroom in the impressive Pacific Quay building in Glasgow.
This role may involve varied working hours including day shifts, early shifts (6am start) and late shifts (11pm finish) and some weekends.
Main Responsibilities
We are looking for a journalist to be part of our digital video and social media team in the heart of the newsroom.
* You will manage the main BBC Scotland News social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, while maintaining high editorial standards.
* During breaking news situations, under the guidance of editors, you will help source information from social media, including pictures, videos and contributors.
* You will edit breaking news clips with pace and accuracy.
* You will cut and edit and shoot videos that have great opening shots and words that will grab the audience's attention on social media.
* You will work with reporters and correspondents to help them reach a wide audience with their stories.

* You should have video production skills and filming and editing experience.
