To support this journey, we are recruiting a Head of Cloud Operations to join the Digital Solutions Leadership Team and lead our Cloud Solutions portfolio. This role will build on Leonardo’s industry leading Cloud Capability, growing the Cloud Operations and assuming accountability for the capability across our UK Divisions.
As the Head of Cloud Operations you will be responsible for:
* Developing a cloud strategy that aligns with the group's goals, including the selection of cloud service providers and technologies across the Leonardo estate.
* Ensuring the efficient operation and management of cloud infrastructure, including scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
* Leading and managing a team of cloud engineers, architects, and other IT professionals to implement and maintain cloud solutions.
* Ensuring that cloud operations comply with security standards and regulations, safeguarding data and applications in the cloud.
* Working closely with other departments, such as IT, finance, and operations, to ensure that cloud solutions meet organisational needs.
* Continuously monitoring cloud performance and resource usage to optimize operations and reduce costs.
* Staying updated on emerging cloud technologies and trends to drive innovation and improvement in cloud services.
Overall, the Head of Cloud Operations plays a crucial role in leveraging cloud technology to enhance business operations and achieve strategic objectives.
Below are some of the key accountabilities responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud services while managing a team of cloud professionals:
* Develop and execute the cloud operations strategy in alignment with the organisation’s goals.
* Oversee the management and optimization of cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
* Ensure high availability and reliability of cloud services through monitoring, incident management, and problem resolution working with TSM and Service Operations.
* Lead a team of cloud professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management.
* Collaborate with IT security to ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Drive cost optimisation initiatives and manage cloud budgets effectively.
* Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance cloud operations.
* Develop and implement cloud governance policies and procedures.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and migrations to the cloud.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for cloud-related inquiries and issues within Cloud operations.
