Senior Network Engineer This is a permanent role that pays £70,000 (£65k basic £5k) car allowance and bonuses, including overtime. You need to be able to drive to client site in Oxford 2-3 times per week in the first instance. As you will be working with government clients you need to be eligible to obtain full UK SC Clearance. The Opportunity: This is supporting a client who provide cutting edge services to customers across the UK and have a long-term project to replace and upgrade their existing networks. As an experienced Network Engineer or Network Consultant this is a broad role but there is some immediate customer demand which requires working knowledge of Policy Management Platforms - some Aruba ClearPass would be ideal although this doesn't need to have been in recent roles. You will be tasked with consulting and delivering hands-on expertise that will optimise their existing network and inform their choice of next generation systems Our client is a MSP working with top government clients amongst many others. They are looking for a customer facing Network Engineer able to work closely with the client. The role is very diverse and consists both of technical design and implementation of the solutions. The first priority will be a long term, on-going project with a government client, and there will be other additional side projects as well. The Role and Responsibilities: Project Implementation: Collaborate with the Professional Services team to implement projects according to Scope of Works. Engage with customer IT teams and 3rd parties for Low-Level Design elements. Ensure accurate recording and tracking of customer-related activities. Technical Expertise: Network Management and Deployment Deployment and configuration of Aruba ClearPass solutions. Conducting security assessments and gap analysis to identify possible areas of improvement Integrating Aruba Clear Pass with existing infrastructure – switches and wireless controllers. Evaluating client requirements to deliver policies which meet their security protocols and compliance standards. Recommending and implementation of best practices for network access control and device onboarding. Documentation and Support: Produce clear technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain up-to-date documentation for all systems and configurations. Provide training and support to end-users. The Person: - Good proven knowledge of networks, switches and routers as you will be expected to support deployment, design and implementation of solutions for the client - Good working knowledge of Aruba Clear Pass or other products such as (Cisco ISE, FortiNAC, ConnectWise, iMaster, Meta-Access NAC) - Knowledge of BGP, VRF and VXLAN routing protocols - Strong communicator with ability to act as a company representative in front of a client. - Approachable team player who enjoys and is pro-active in building relationships and working in partnership with other teams and suppliers - You need to have a driving licence and your own car. - You need to be eligible to undergo and pass a UK SC Check. This means you must have been a UK resident for a minimum of 5 years
