You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,716 to £29,196 per annum. The Health and Safety Advisor role: The opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our health and safety team in making a difference. As our Health & Safety Advisor, you will assist the Head of Health & Safety in ensuring our Colleges comply with all health and safety legislation and provide advice and guidance on health and safety matters to internal employees and external employers (e.g. student work placement providers). The work you do as a Health & Safety Advisor is key to ensuring our staff and students have a safe working and learning environment and will play a key role in promoting a positive health and safety culture. Key Responsibilities of our Health and Safety Advisor: To carry out Health and Safety risk assessments across the College Group and any other relevant compliance checks To accurately complete documentation and ensure the health and safety management systems are updated regularly with all matters related to Health and Safety To remain up to date on all matters relating to Health and Safety regarding work experience and employment To work with the Senior Health and Safety Advisors to prepare reports and statistics as required, for presentation to The Head of Health and Safety, GLT, SMT and the Corporation To participate in the continuous improvement and business growth within all College functions, with regards to H&S compliance To contribute to the development and review of all Health and Safety policies and procedures To assist with the implementation and development of the health and safety management systems across the College Group To undertake checks on curriculum and support areas and assist staff with the production of their risk assessments, to ensure compliance Monitor and maintain the colleges first aid stocks and provisions including administration of first aid courses Undertake individual risk assessments where required such as Display Screen Equipment (DSE), pregnancy, and PEEP’s, ensuring actions are rectified in a timely manner Monitor and maintain a central record for health and safety training, producing regular compliance reports Assist in workplace inspections and subsequent report writing Monitor health and safety compliance relating to offsite activities ensuring risk assessments are suitable and sufficient Conduct health and safety training for staff where required Our ideal Health and Safety Advisor should have the below skills and experience: NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent) A track record of ensuring appropriate risk assessments are undertaken in a timely and efficient manner Experience interpreting data and compiling reports Experience operating across a wide variety of working environments, communicating with all categories of staff Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the HASWA and all other Health and Safety legislation The ability to analyse complex problems and provide effective solutions Closing date: 3rd February 2025 Interview date: 27th February 2025 If you would like to learn more about our Health and Safety Advisor role, then please click ‘apply’ today You will be asked to upload a CV before starting an application form for this role.
