Location: Manchester, CentreHours: 10am to 3pm (term times only) Salary: £12 to £13 per hour
We’re looking for a hardworking and cheerful Catering Assistant to join our lively school kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive and welcoming community.
About the Role:As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in delivering healthy, nutritious meals to our students and staff. Working closely with the Catering Manager and kitchen team, you’ll help create a positive dining experience for everyone at school.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:
* Assisting with the preparation of fresh ingredients and simple dishes (e.g., salads, sandwiches, desserts)
* Serving meals to children and staff in a friendly and efficient manner
* Helping to set up the dining hall, including laying out cutlery, trays, and condiments
* Clearing and cleaning tables and kitchen equipment after service
* Washing up and maintaining general cleanliness in all food areas
* Supporting with stock control, deliveries, and basic food storage tasks
* Following food hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times
We’re Looking For Someone Who:? Is approachable, reliable, and enjoys working as part of a team? Has good communication skills and a positive attitude? Takes pride in delivering excellent service? Can work quickly and efficiently in a busy environment? Understands the importance of healthy eating and promoting good food habits? (Desirable) Holds a Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate (training can be provided if not)
Experience in a catering or kitchen environment is helpful but not essential — enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are most important!
