About the Role:
This role is part of the Optimisation and Markets dept and reports into the Portfolio Optimisation Director. Cross functional coordination will occur with all UrbanChain depts.
The role will involve the production of insightful reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, summarising market trends, risks, and opportunities. Manage large datasets and utilise analytical tools to track key market indicators.
Responsibilities:
* All market reporting, from daily intraday report to bespoke executive presentations
* Position and P&L Reporting: Collaborate with MO Risk analysts to produce daily reports on portfolio positions, P&L, volatility, and correlation exposures.
* Risk Metrics Management: Ensure the production and management of risk metrics, including financial exposure and stress testing across the desk.
* Deal Optimisation: Work closely with structurers, quants and originators in executing efficient market strategies.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with finance, risk, and settlements teams to ensure timely closing of trading books, ensure operational compliance with code obligations, analysis of trading performance, and mitigation of any discrepancies.
* Compliance & Risk Infrastructure: Coordinate exchange and OTC limits, ensure delegation of authority, and develop risk infrastructure to ensure risks are appropriately captured and communicated.
* In cooperation with the Tech Dept, develop future rich data capability to enhance team efficiency, customer experience and profitability
Qualifications:
* Quantitative experience paramount with a background in data analysis, statistical modelling and market forecasting.
* >2yrs experience in energy markets and knowledge of key drivers including generation mix, infrastructure, regulatory policy
* Understanding of renewable energy trends, emission certificate markets, and the integration of new technologies into the power grid
* Strong analytical and comprehension skills.
* Experience working with analytical tools and programming languages to manage large datasets
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights in a clear, concise manner
