Due to the expansion of our Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre, we are looking for Nurses who are searching for opportunities to further develop their career and who possess excellent communication skills, strong team working skills, and can evidence the delivery of good patient care.
The ED prides itself on providing high quality, compassionate care and a desire to be amongst the best. Including in the expansion of new builds, the Acute Assessment Unit and ward have also been upgraded, this includes 16 trolley spaces for direct GP heralded patients along with 2 ward areas for acute short stay medical admissions.

Main duties of the job
1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care needs of patients from admission (or before) to discharge, with the involvement of patients and their relatives/carers.
2. Participate in the ongoing training, supervision, and support of registered and non-registered nursing staff. This includes Trainee Assistant Practitioners, Clinical Support Workers undertaking apprenticeships, and pre-registration Student Nurses.
3. Evaluate own knowledge and practice and make effective use of appropriate learning opportunities, such as department training, Trust training, conference attendance, shadowing staff, literature searching, and reading.
4. Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing colleagues, the Multidisciplinary Team, and all other relevant personnel.
5. Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations, utilising escalation strategies, such as SBAR and pathways.
We are not currently able to support OSCE training.
