Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscape Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and a passion for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces. This role involves a variety of tasks related to landscape and maintenance. The Landscape Operative will play a vital role in ensuring that our clients' grounds are well-kept and aesthetically pleasing.
Responsibilities
* Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and weeding to ensure the health and appearance of gardens.
* Build and install various landscape features using hand tools and power tools.
* Dig holes for planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, ensuring proper depth and spacing.
* Irrigate gardens effectively, adjusting systems as necessary to promote healthy plant growth.
* Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition through regular cleaning and minor repairs.
* Assist in the implementation of new landscaping projects.
* Conduct grounds keeping duties to keep outdoor areas clean and free from debris.
* Support your contracts manager and Site Manager in line with our Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
* Undertake safety and quality inspections and audits.
* Client communication and relationship building.
* Complete site inspections and maintain site records using our tablet system.
* Ensure a high standard of work.
* Mentor and bring on new staff.
* Plan and organize the day-to-day tasks with the Site Manager.
* Report to Site Manager and Contract Manager.
* Fulfill weekly KPI’s.
* Ensure timesheets and vehicle check sheets are completed each week.
* Keep your department manager up to date with the day-to-day running of sites.
* May be required to work across other departments if the workload requires this.
* Able to work at least one weekend per month.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience required by the Skilled Landscape Operative
Essential Knowledge and Skills
* SSSTS
* CSCS
* ROLO
* Full driving licence with Towing
* 5 years’ experience in landscaping including maintenance.
* Able to read drawings and planting schedules.
* Excellent organization and planning skills.
* CAT scan ticket.
* Basic knowledge using electronic devices.
* Maintaining a good quality of work.
* Any relevant tickets for the position.
Essential Experience
* Turfing
* Planting
* Fencing
* Seeding
* Mowing and maintenance
* Familiarity with using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
* Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for maintaining equipment used in landscaping tasks.
* A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential qualities for success in this role.
