We are seeking a Clinical Physiologist Specialist (Respiratory) to join our team in Cwm Taf Morgannwg. - Band 6 or *Band 6 - annex 21 - The post is 37.5 hrs however part time / job share will also be considered.
We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced individuals wishing to further develop their skills within our rapidly developing Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Units.
We provide a full range of Respiratory and sleep testing including:
1. Spirometry
2. Flow Volume loop
3. Lung volumes (by Helium dilution and Body Plethysmography)
4. Transfer factor
5. Reversibility testing
6. Overnight oximetry
7. Multi-channel semi-polysomnography sleep
8. Hypoxic inhalation flight assessment
9. 6-minute wall tests
10. Capillary blood gas analysis
11. Skin prick allergy tests
12. Mannitol Challenge
13. FeNo and PiCo
As well as CPAP therapy services.
We offer services across multiple health board sites therefore, applicants must have the ability to travel to alternate sites to meet service demand.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a Clinical Physiologist Specialist working within the Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Units, contributing to the delivery of the respiratory service provided to patients within Cwm Taf Morgannwg, ensuring that the professional and quality standards of the service are maintained at all times.
They will work as an independent practitioner providing a broad range of routine respiratory diagnostic tests on both inpatients and outpatients. They will form part of the wider multidisciplinary team responsible for the delivery of a full range of diagnostic assessments and therapies for patients with respiratory and sleep related disorders.
Ensuring that all respiratory clinical practices conform to agreed National guidelines which reflect current scientific and technical knowledge and principles of practice.
The post holder will have the opportunity to develop through your conversation PDR.
The post holder will be a professional practitioner working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be responsible for organizing their own workload and ensure that their Respiratory Physiology diagnostic clinical practices conform to agreed national guidelines.

Applications will also be considered for those wishing a development opportunity under the Terms and Conditions of Annex 21. The successful candidate will be required to undertake up to a 24 month training/development programme upon commencement of this role, with an aim to complete a programme of work competencies and acquire the necessary postgraduate skills, knowledge and experience in this field.
Completion of the qualification/learning and achievement of postgraduate experience is a requirement of the contract of employment for Annex 21 candidates.
During this 24 month training period, salary will be paid in accordance with Annex 21 of the Terms and Conditions as follows :
Months 1 - 12 of the training period will be paid at 70% of the top of Band 6 pay scale,
Months 13 - 24 of the training period will be paid at 75% of the top of Band 6 pay scale.
Upon successful attainment of the identified qualification/experience/competencies, even if sooner than the 24 month allocated timeframe, the post holder will automatically move to the Band 6 as they will then meet the full KSF outline of this role and be expected to undertake all duties within the Job Description as indicated.
