To support our continued growth we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Shepshed near Loughborough. Job Title : Quantity Surveyor Location: East Midlands Region based at Shepshed Office Hours of Work: 40 hours per week Position Reports To: Commercial Manager What we can offer: Salary range 30k to 45k dependant on applicant and experience. Monthly staff position 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays Car allowance Pension Company Sick Pay Life Insurance Guaranteed Income Protection Bonus scheme (eligible after 1 years’ service) Key Roles and Responsibilities As the Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include: Obtain and evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials and services for a number of designated projects / contracts Managing the commercial relationship with clients Producing accurate forecasts of projects cost to completion in line with budgets and report any changes that may affect projects costs and/or timescale Fully reviewing and highlighting the contract conditions that impact, and may impact the commercial status of each project prior to the commencement of the project, detailing all risk and key rules to the project delivery team Ensure individual contract information complies with Health, Safety, Welfare and Legal requirements ensuring it complies with quality standards Managing the work to maintain the individual Client/Customer care requirements to make sure they are met Advise, formulate and submit claims for loss and expense Carrying out commercial evaluation of all projects after completion Person Specification: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, experience, and attributes: Experience in a similar role, within the construction sector Detailed understanding of Contracts Strong commercial awareness Excellent interpersonal skills Good analytical, financial and numeracy skills Negotiation skills Proactive team player who can also work well with others Ability to work to tight deadlines A Disclosure and Barring Services check will be carried out.
