About the role Reports To: Head of Mechanical Engineering Duties Duties/Responsibilities: Undertaking the engineering design of hazardous area heaters including but not limited to, the drafting and revision of engineering drawings, carrying out necessary engineering design calculations and the production of technical engineering documentation on EXHEAT contracts. Working with Project Managers on contracts where necessary and where assigned, to provide drafting resource assistance within the engineering design office. Responsibilities: 3D mechanical modelling/drawings using Autodesk Inventor and other Engineering software packages. Producing Bills of Materials. Producing the completed engineering design to meet with the requirements of any/all, design documentation, client specification, hazardous area, pressure vessel codes and internal specifications. Ensuring that all designs meet the requirements of EXHEAT Certification, local and international standards and regulations, internal standards. Confirming that the control system interface with associated control panel matches with the heater design. Ensuring accuracy of all project documentation drawings for both client and EXHEAT. Undertaking where needed the engineering design of hazardous area heaters including but not limited to, the drafting and revision of engineering drawings, carrying out necessary engineering design calculations and the production of technical engineering documentation on contracts. Recording and monitoring of hours spent on projects and identifying areas for improvement. Checking and verification of design documentation including the review and implementation of client specifications. Ensure this is submitted in a timely manner. To pay particular attention to design drawing detail. Aid the training of any trainee/new staff as required and as directed. To manage his/her time effectively and in a professional manner to achieve completion of specified work requirements in a timely fashion, hitting KPIs as set. To work through single / multiple project design tasks to suit department and individual workload. To be involved in special projects on an ongoing basis to suit the wider department needs: For example, but not limited to: To assist in the design and development of a standard products range To assist in the further development of the Engineering department design capabilities in relation to specific design software To take a lead role and become part of the working group concentrating on the continued introduction of Engineering software within the Engineering department Key Interfaces: Document controllers: To work in conjunction with the document control requirements and client document needs and ultimately to the individual project plan requirements. As directed by the specific Project Manager. Project Engineers / Managers / Senior Project Managers: To be part of the Engineering department, with the general team goal of completing their allotted task for the benefit of the business in a timely and professional manner and as directed. Engineering: To take part in regular 1 to1‘s to assess current projects and set personnel targets for ongoing development. Sub-Contractors and Vendors: Communicating technical information and detailed quotation information and Document review to ensure smooth project and procurement flow.
