Our client is a successful and well-established manufacturer, they are looking for an experienced Calibration Technician to join them on a temporary basis (3 months initially, likely to be longer).
This role would suit someone ideally from the Automotive industry, with experience in a role such as a Calibration Technician / Calibration Engineer / Calibrator / Quality Technician / Quality Assurance Technician / Quality Controller / Quality Inspector / Quality Inspection Operative / similar role.
The position requires you to be principally responsible for the successful execution and management of all internal and external instrument calibration.
Required Experience:
1. Knowledge of maintaining calibration systems to meet IATF 16949 or similar standard.
2. Knowledge of working to customer specific requirements within the automotive industry or similar precision industry.
3. Knowledge of all test and measuring equipment on site.
4. Minimum 2 years of experience in supporting the implementation of calibration activities.
5. An understanding of health and safety requirements achieved through attaining a nationally recognised qualification.

Responsibilities:
1. First line contact with production on all equipment calibration matters arising.
2. Perform all tasks in relation to routine calibration of every test and measuring equipment.
3. Evaluate and troubleshoot non-operational instruments and measuring equipment.
4. Providing a suitable and efficient measuring equipment and method when requested.
5. Create, maintain and execute calibration procedures for various instrumentation and equipment.
6. Evaluate new measuring equipment requirements; setting standards and specification.
7. With coordination from the purchasing department manage all aspects of external calibration requirements, including evaluating calibration vendors based on qualification and expertise and monitor their performance.
8. Maintain the calibration and repair schedules and monitor performance.
9. Maintain calibration database for all internal instruments and monitor due dates, perform calibrations and generate calibration paperwork.
10. Participate in audits by external bodies and represent the calibration department.
11. Work with technical management and establish goals to expand and improve internal calibration capabilities.
12. To support ensuring that the calibration department complies with the requirements of the ISO / IATF standards and all customer specific requirements and specification.
13. To support the deployment of the company's QMS is effective in achieving the target performance levels.
14. Investigations and preparation of investigation and countermeasure reports for customers in the event of any deviations in quality performance.
15. Work with support departments to support the achievement of internal and external performance targets.
16. Work with all internal departments to ensure that calibration procedures are being adhered to.
Salary is £15.63 per hour.
Hours of work: 8.00am - 4.10pm, Monday to Friday.
