Finance Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
1. Invoicing: Process and generate sales invoices for customers in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
3. Payment Allocation: Allocate customer and supplier payments efficiently, ensuring correct balances.
4. Credit Insurance: Request and manage credit insurance for customers, ensuring compliance with insurance policies.
5. Customer & Supplier Setup: Set up new customers and suppliers on the system, ensuring all details are accurate and up to date.
6. Auto Entry: Utilise Auto Entry for data capture and processing of invoices, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
7. Payroll: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring all employee payments are accurate and on time.
8. Pensions: Assist with pension administration and payments in compliance with The Pensions Regulator.
9. Invoice Financing: Manage the invoice financing facility, ensuring timely and accurate submission of invoices and withdrawals.
10. Supplier Payments: Ensure suppliers are paid on time, maintaining good relationships with external vendors.
11. Sage Invoice Upload: Upload supplier delivery notes to invoices in Sage, ensuring proper documentation for transactions.
Key Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is essential.
2. Strong understanding of invoicing, reconciliation, and payment processing.
3. Experience with Sage Cloud accounting software is preferred.
4. Proficient in Excel and other MS Office programmes.
5. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritise workloads.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Experience in payroll processing and pension schemes is advantageous.
9. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion.
Desirable Skills:
1. Knowledge of invoice financing and credit insurance procedures.
2. AAT or similar accounting qualification is desirable but not essential.
