An exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced HR Generalist to join a forward-thinking education provider. As second in command to the Head of HR, we are looking for a warm and confident individual who excels in building relationships and making people feel welcome and comfortable. Taking responsibility for Employee Relations, Compliance, and Recruitment – this role offers so much variety. To thrive in this role, you will need to be able to multi-task and manage a high workload.
There will be a number of projects for you to focus on, alongside the bread and butter of your role.
Responsibilities:
Generalist HR:
* Building relationships with all managers and stakeholders across the business.
* Supporting management and staff through disciplinary and grievance procedures.
* Supporting the Head of HR with all case work, handling cases as far as possible and handing over to the Head of HR if further work is required.
* Working closely with the Line Managers and SMT members to offer an efficient HR, Recruitment, and Compliance advisory service.
* Working with Senior Management to ensure satisfactory onboarding and induction of new staff.
* General HR Administration – including updating relevant HR information systems with employee information, including new starters, contract amendments, and leavers – ensuring accuracy at all times.
* Administering and monitoring probation periods for staff and acting accordingly.
* Monitoring changes to employment law, updating policies and practices where necessary.
* Communicating changes to relevant stakeholders and all staff.
* Maintaining a full suite of policies for both HR and Compliance and ensuring they are well communicated to management and staff.
* Ensuring that mandatory training is up to date.
Recruitment:
* Leading recruitment efforts, focusing on the Candidate Journey, ensuring that candidates have a great experience regardless of the outcome.
* Creating job adverts and supporting management with their recruitment requirements.
* Managing all compliance and audits associated with recruitment.
Compliance:
* Maintaining the Single Central Register for the school – ensuring that it is up to date and accurate at all times.
* Ensuring the school remains fully compliant with appropriate regulations, which may include ISI standards and regulations, Keeping Children Safe in Education, EYFS statutory framework, and wider legislation.
* Ensuring compliance with Data Protection and GDPR.
* Developing and communicating new regulations and guidance concerning HR and compliance processes.
* Coordinating the school’s actions in response to changes in the Independent School Standards Regulations to ensure continued compliance.
