You and Your Team:
As a Senior Credit Risk Manager – Responsible Lending and Open Banking, you will be reporting to the Head of Credit Risk Strategies.
In this role you will lead the evolution of using alternative data sources within our affordability and credit risk strategies for Loans, Vehicle Finance and Credit Cards. You will be pivotal in establishing thought leadership within the UK industry on the use of open banking transactional data, enabling us to provide credit to the underserved, capture market share, grow receivables, optimise profitability and deliver good customer outcomes.
In your day-to-day role, as a Senior Credit Risk Manager – Responsible Lending and Open Banking you will:
1. Lead and role model for the wider strategy function on innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, influencing across Tech and Change, Data and Analytics, Commercial, Finance, and the wider business.
2. Lead the cross-functional team focused on building out our credit strategy for lending policy, particularly optimizing the use of open banking in affordability and responsible lending decisions.
3. Coordinate projects aimed at achieving an ambitious future vision to change lending for the better.
4. Ensure effective engagement with customers at different points in the lending journey.
5. Create innovative ways to look at the data ‘value exchange’ throughout the customer onboarding process.
6. Build, lead, and develop a team of high-performing individuals.
7. Drive the optimization of lending decisions through test and learn initiatives to identify champion strategies for both new and existing customers.
8. Influence stakeholders across the Group, from peers to Senior Management, to gain buy-in and support for delivering change.
9. Support business growth and portfolio profitability by balancing risk, reward, and responsible lending.
10. Provide colleagues with opportunities to succeed through coaching, mentoring, and sharing expertise and knowledge.
What will make you stand out?
11. Expert in developing responsible lending strategies as part of a Credit Risk function.
12. Expert in the use of open banking data.
13. Extensive experience in developing and implementing scorecards, strategy rules, and affordability assessments.
14. Inspire the analytical team, prioritising activities and provide strategic direction.
15. Familiar with the existing regulatory and economic landscapes, with working knowledge of CONC obligations and an overview of wider macro-economic environment and trends.
The interview process:
16. Up to 30minute telephone call with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
17. Up to 1 hour with the hiring team – via MS Teams
18. Final interview with the wider Credit Risk team
