As part of the Planning and Procurement team at the Antibody site near Oxford, the Supplier Manager will be responsible for managing relationships with our suppliers to ensure the quality of materials supplied meets the company’s needs, standards, and expectations. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to deliver to agreed timelines, understand the importance of continuous improvement and be passionate about what they do. They will be capable of working independently on projects as well as within a team to deliver required outcomes. They will support the Planning and Procurement team with day-to-day supplier management issues.
How You'll Make an Impact:
* Management of the Approved Supplier List: verifying supplier quality standards; track, qualify or disqualify suppliers according to Bio-Rad standards
* Manage the development and implementation of supplier management programs, including periodic business reviews and/or audits.
* Assist with the implementation and management of a Contract Management tool.
* Review and management of existing Supplier Agreements, including price updates and validity periods and maintenance of accurate supplier records
* Management of new Agreement implementation process
* Generation and implementation of cost reduction ideas
* Writing and maintaining SOPs relevant to supplier management programs
What You Bring:
* Degree educated (Life Science desirable) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience within an engineering, quality assurance and/or manufacturing supplier quality environment, preferably within the Life Sciences Industries.
* Strong communication skills: ability to clearly communicate information and data; strong oral and written communication and presentation skills to communicate with suppliers and internal customers; able to present at all levels of the organisation.
* Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects concurrently to meet internal timelines; organised and resourceful, high attention to detail with an ability to work to demanding targets and tight deadlines.
* Strong analytical skills: ability to perform statistical reporting and composing logical, detailed, and analytical reports; ability to develop and implement strategies to improve supplier relationships; ability to challenge and effectively improve current practices
* Ability to operate independently and remain aligned to different stakeholders in a global matrixed organisation
* Internal or external audit training and/or experience
* Knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing principles
* System Knowledge: Must: Microsoft Excel; Desired: Power BI and LinkSquares.
