Join us as a Senior Metabolite Specialist and make an invaluable contribution to our Food Safety & Biosecurity We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Metabolite Identification Specialist to join our team. As a Senior Metabolite Specialist you will work closely with our Environmental Fate and Metabolism Team to support Study Directors and commercial customers in the affirmation and identification of unknown metabolites. This role is pivotal in advancing our understanding of chemical safety and environmental impact. What you’ll be doing: Collaborate with the Environmental Fate and Metabolism Team to design and execute metabolite identification studies. Provide expert support to Study Directors in the interpretation and affirmation of unknown metabolites. Utilise advanced analytical techniques, including LC-MS/MS, NMR, and other spectrometric methods, to identify and characterize metabolites. Develop and validate analytical methods for metabolite identification. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and commercial customers. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in metabolite identification and analytical chemistry. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines and quality standards. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members. What we’re looking for: You will have a BSc or higher in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in metabolite identification within the chemical (REACH), pharmaceutical, or plant protection product sectors. Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques such as LC-MS/MS, LC-QTOF, Orbitrap and radiochemistry methods. Strong knowledge of environmental fate and metabolism studies with an understanding of the biotic and abiotic pathways of metabolism relevant to environmental fate samples. Knowledge of the GLP quality system. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and confident work within a client facing role. Experience with regulatory guidelines (e.g., VMD, EPA, EFSA, OECD) is highly desirable.
