Foster Partners, the acclaimed Architecture practice are looking to further grow their in-house skills and offer the opportunity for a talented ecologist to join the growing landscape team, contributing to a range of challenging, high profile master planning and public realm, regeneration and green infrastructure, projects. Their diverse International portfolio has led us to seek an ecologist to support our landscape team in the development of robust and environmental design solutions. The candidate should have an excellent habitat ecology knowledge in a wide geographic/biome areas with an understanding of both habitat and the faunal species that use them. The role will see you working closely with the landscape architects and undertaking and supporting on ecological research and site context analyses focused on protected sites, habitats and species. You will also undertake metric calculations to quantify ecological impact of proposals, including biodiversity net gain (BNG) natural capital (NC) and other similar assessments (as well as calculations relating to BREEAM, LEED and Green Mark etc. where appropriate) Qualities and skills required · Degree-level or above qualification in Biology/ Ecology/ Natural Sciences/ Zoology / Botany etc. · Site-applied ecological advice experience in the development, design or construction industry · Member of suitable professional institution, or working towards (e.g. CIEEM) · Conservation or ecological site work experience beneficial · Good working knowledge of GIS · Self-motivated and able to take responsibility · Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks · Excellent organisational skills Benefits include annual bonus, 25 days holiday, pension plus more Please apply with an up to date PDF CV
