Reporting to the Customer Experience & Commercial (CX&C) Risk, Conduct and Governance Director, this role will be critical in embedding and managing a robust, effective, and efficient product oversight and governance framework for both FCA regulated and non-regulated products, propositions and services within British Gas Services and Solutions (BGS&S).

The governance and control framework must enable the growth agenda of the business whilst always promoting the needs and outcomes of the customer. This role will therefore need to dovetail the business\\\' commercial agenda and FCA regulatory obligations in day-to-day decision-making to support the development of products, propositions and services which are both commercially viable and produce good outcomes for customers.
The role will work closely with the CX&C Leadership Team and collaborate effectively with the wider CX&C Commercial team and the Second line of Defence Risk and Compliance Functions. This role will drive a positive risk and compliance culture across the CX&C Function.
Location: There will be a requirement to travel to our Head office in Windsor for meetings (circa 2 times per month).
About the Role:
* Day-to-day ownership and management of the Product Governance and Oversight Framework on behalf of the Risk, Conduct and Governance Director.
* Drive embedding of, and compliance with, the Product Governance and Oversight Framework across the Commercial Function to support effective risk-based decision making in a commercial environment.
* Drive the effectiveness and maturity of the Product Governance and Oversight Framework ensuring it supports regulatory compliance, the needs of the customer throughout the customer lifecycle, and commercial ambitions of the business in an efficient way.
* Work closely and collaboratively with members of the wider CX&C Function (particularly Portfolio Product Managers, Campaign Managers, Change Managers and Partnerships Team). Provide advice and guidance on regulatory and risk-related matters related to the development of products, propositions and services which will drive a positive risk and compliance culture across the CX&C Function.
* Own the running of the Product, Propositions and Services Committee including managing the agenda and ensuring discussions and decisions are accurately documented.
* Work collaboratively with the Portfolio teams to support development of key metrics to evidence good customer outcomes and fair value through the lifecycle of insurance products.
* Own delivery of effective Product Governance and Oversight Framework training across the CX&C Function, including the development and maintenance of training materials.
* Act as a regulatory champion across the CX&C Function, working with both Second Line of Defence Risk and Compliance Functions to enable a culture of compliance and proactive risk management.
* Responsible for line management of one Product & Propositions Governance Specialist.
About You:
* Experienced risk and compliance professional with strong understanding of governance and embedding risk and compliance frameworks and culture within a commercial setting.
* Thorough and practical understanding of the General Insurance Financial Services regulatory environment, specifically the FCA Consumer Duty, PROD4 and ICOBs requirements (additional knowledge of CONC would be useful).
* Practical experience implementing key commercial governance processes which support regulatory compliance in a General Insurance Financial Services environment.
* Experience dealing directly with the regulator would be an advantage.
* Excellent skills in building relationships with stakeholders and achieving buy-in to positive risk and compliance culture through collaborative working relationships.
* Demonstrates gravitas and independence of thought and can provide effective challenge/advice to colleagues holding the tension between risk and compliance and commercial growth agendas.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong sense of purpose and positive attitude, with proven ability to deliver results at pace within large, complex organisations.
* Strong line management skills which drive a strong performance culture and results.
