Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist

Main Purpose
Provide high-quality clinical care to patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, person-centered treatment programs based on the recovery model.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take clinical responsibility for patients, including conducting ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic planning.
2. Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
3. Contribute to pre-admission assessments and provide psychiatric expertise to the multidisciplinary team.
4. Participate in management and clinical governance meetings, contributing to service strategy.
5. Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to in-house training programs.
6. Maintain CPD and revalidation requirements as per professional standards.
7. Support service development and evaluation in collaboration with the Lead Consultant.
Skills & Experience
1. CCST/CCT or equivalent in Psychiatry.
2. Experience in inpatient settings and managing individuals with significant mental health challenges.
3. Strong team player with a multidisciplinary approach to care.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and confidence with patients.
5. Ability to manage sensitive patient data with confidentiality and accuracy.
