Our client, a leading supplier of oil and gas, and renewable energy equipment and solutions, is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their well-established team, based in the Norwich office.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This opportunity will be completed full time, in the Norwich office.
Applicants must be willing to travel to different UK sites and offshore. Travel will be paid at enhanced rates.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide drive and energy for the completion of all allocated projects.
* Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures and in line with ISO 18001/9001/14001 guidelines.
* Take personal responsibility for all Quality, Health and Safety aspects of projects.
* Act as a mentor to graduates and/or project engineers within the team.
* Act as the go-to person for complex projects, providing expertise and guidance to stakeholders.
* Manage both the commercial and technical aspects of project delivery.
* Own the project from handover until completion, recording and resolving actions via the action tracker.
* Undertake tasks as part of the Duty Manager rota and provide holiday cover for the Business Unit Leader.
* Identify risks such as commercial, contractual, design, and schedule, and assess their impact.
* Define, manage, and drive the project delivery schedule, identifying critical path items.
* Ensure company financial management systems reflect actual progress and forecast costs.
* Understand the scope of the projects and ensure they meet all correct processes.
* Prepare project user requirements, documentation, and manuals by engaging with customers.
* Order materials/services in good time to meet project requirements.
* Instigate HAZID and HAZOP meetings as necessary.
This role requires the unfettered right to work in the UK.
As the Senior Project Engineer, you will have a proven track record in a similar role. The successful candidate will take full ownership of projects from handover through to completion. It is essential to have the ability to work independently in a high-intensity environment, along with excellent IT and communication skills.
ABOUT YOU:
* Qualification in a relevant Engineering/Mechanical/Electrical discipline.
* Minimum of five years experience in a relevant or similar role.
* Experience of successful client-facing interactions.
* Experience in financial forecasting in a project environment.
* Self-motivated with a focus on delivering and meeting objectives.
* The ability to work at a high intensity while engaging with team members.
