ROLE SUMMARY:
Ivy House School thrives as a distinguished, co-educational, and non-denominational school, for boys and girls aged 2-11, nestled within the green spaces of Golders Hill Park in Hampstead. Ivy House School is looking for an experienced Peripatetic Guitar Teacher to join the school in the Summer Term from 22nd April 2025.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To teach stimulating and challenging lessons, according to the timetable that bring out the best in pupils at any stage of their musical development, from beginner level to the most advanced.
* To differentiate work and set challenges according to the ability of the pupils, whilst maintaining high expectations and being mindful of pupils who may have Special Educational Needs.
* To prepare pupils for exams, concerts and performances.
* To record and report pupils' progress including weekly feedback in a music notebook through Involve app.
* To work in a team in line with the school's ethos, educational aims and priorities (including INSET meetings when required).
* To attend concerts in which your students from the school will perform (when possible).
* To be a good role model and demonstrate high standards to pupils.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* A relevant diploma or music degree required for a Peripatetic Guitar Teacher.
* Professional teaching qualification.
* Previous experience of teaching 4 to 11 year old children.
* Experience of preparing for music exams and leading ensembles.
* Good knowledge of current pedagogy.
* Exemplary written, organisational and IT skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills in relation to staff, pupils and parents.
* A team player that can work within a diverse team.
* Positive and energetic with a sense of humour.
* Approachable, open and honest.
* Ability to adapt to changing situations.
* Dedicated, conscientious and hardworking.
