Salary G6: £35,703 per annum full time (pro rata for part time)
Contractual hours: 16

This is an opportunity to join a friendly and hard-working team seeking to help customers with a wide range of housing needs and to contribute to the prevention of homelessness in Oxford.
The post is based in the busy Housing Needs Team within the Assessment Team and focuses on rapidly assessing and prioritising the large amount of General Register and Transfer housing applications received from customers applying for an offer of the limited social housing becoming available to those included on the Oxford Register for Affordable Housing.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic housing professional or someone with similar experience of working with customers in need and a knowledge of housing, with excellent customer service skills. You will need the ability to work under pressure, rapidly processing large volumes of housing applications accurately and to be able to prioritise your work to tight deadlines to help customers in housing need and prevent homelessness.
It is a fast-paced role, where changes to the way we work need to be quickly implemented to reflect ever-changing legislation, policy, and procedures in these areas, and where an ability to quickly learn and retain information is a definite advantage.
You will complete enquiries and assess housing applications based on the rules set out in the Allocations Scheme for customers with a wide range of housing needs – sometimes complex and in what may be challenging situations - to investigate and verify information provided by customers for their housing applications. A knowledge of working on QL or a similar housing system would be a bonus.
If you have a good eye for detail, are open to learning new skills, and enjoy being part of a busy and pro-active team then we would like to hear from you.
For an informal discussion about the post please contact Tarryn Spruyt, Senior Assessment Officer on 01865 252601 or email tspruyt@oxford.gov.uk
