What does the role involve?
As the Assistant Director of Science you will share responsibility with the Director of Science for the development of teaching and learning and the standards achieved in Chemistry across the Collegiate. This will require effective professional leadership of a team of staff to ensure that all students enjoy a rich learning experience and make or exceed expected progress. This is an exciting and very fulfilling post, providing excellent preparation for further promotion and, naturally, there will be high quality support and opportunities for further professional learning and development in the role. It is therefore an important role within the College which provides excellent preparation and support for further promotion.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking to appoint an Assistant Director of Science who will bring an energetic and ambitious approach to this area of our work and support the development of the Collegiate. The person specification identifies the experience, skills and attributes we are seeking, but in short we are looking for: an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to develop teaching and learning within the Science Department and across the Collegiate, a confident role model with the ability to motivate and influence, an individual with strategic and emotional intelligence and an ambitious leader.
