Founded in 1990, we are a niche practice concentrating exclusively on commercial and business law. About a third of the work is property work. We aim to provide all the legal services needed by small and medium-sized businesses. Clients vary in size from individuals and family companies to UK subsidiaries of multinational and offshore companies.
Our offices are in a modern air-conditioned building with on-site parking, located in a business park overlooking woodlands. Several industrial estates are nearby.
The work will be a broad mixture of commercial property matters including:
* Transfer of shops, offices, industrial units and sheds
* Leases for landlords and tenants
* Transfer of residential property bought as investments
* Licensing agreements
* Options to purchase
* Auction purchases
* Free of tie pub tenancies
* Refinances
* S106 agreements
The practice has the experience and ability to deal with high value, commercial property work, and has clients with substantial property portfolios. Any candidate is expected to have the intellectual ability to tackle a wide range of work and the interest and willingness to explore and develop new skills.
The candidate should have significant experience in commercial property law and be able to manage a wide range of commercial property transactions independently. We seek a person with excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills, the ability to build long-term client relationships, and who can work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
We will consider candidates working remotely but would prefer to have somebody able to work at least one day a week in the office. The candidate should be willing to work part time every day or for three or four full days each week with the support of an experienced apprentice solicitor and a Consultant. The role has arisen as our Associate is going on maternity leave at the end of March 2025, and the candidate should be available to start mid-March.
Salary and benefits will be competitive and in line with experience.
