Job Description
Our client one of the leading Health Insurance companies in Ireland, is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join the team on 12 month contract basis.
Primary Function:
The Procurement and Contracts Management Specialist will lead initiatives in sourcing third-party vendors and support the development of the Procurement and Contracts Management function. The role involves active stakeholder engagement to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
* Actively promote the Procurement and Contracts Management function ensuring adherence to policies and procedures through stakeholder engagement.
* Proactively identify upcoming projects or expenditures requiring procurement engagement.
* Ensure expiring contracts are renegotiated in advance through tendering exercises or direct negotiations.
* Coordinate and manage the tendering process for new or existing products or services, including proposal evaluation, vendor negotiation, and contractual finalization.
* Ensure all contractual documentation is complete, fully executed, and stored in a centralized repository with consistent naming conventions.
* Maintain accurate data on vendor contracts, including start/end dates and termination provisions.
* Partner with key stakeholders in monthly meetings to strategize on procurement initiatives.
* Drive value through spend data analysis to identify cost savings or vendor consolidation opportunities.
* Liaise with Third Party Risk Management to complete due diligence before onboarding new vendors.
* Work closely with Legal, Data and Privacy, and Information Security teams to align on contractual requirements.
* Support oversight of contract monitoring activities to ensure adequate performance reviews by Contract Owners.
* Maintain and update process documents and internal standard operating procedures annually.
* Assist with other back-office administrative tasks as needed
Experience and Skills:
* Significant post-qualification experience in Procurement and Contracts Management.
* Knowledge of leading practices in Procurement and Strategic Sourcing.
* Excellent knowledge of end-to-end Procurement processes, including competitive bidding, vendor negotiations, contract management, supplier performance management, and life-cycle costing processes.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder relationship management skills.
* Highly motivated and organized with a focus on continuous improvement and results-oriented delivery.
* Strong presentation and written communication skills.
* Experience with JIRA/Confluence systems is an asset.
