We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Mental Health Lead (Senior Nurse) to join our Primary Care team at HMP Highpoint, a category C men's prison, located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk, England.
Highpoint Prison offers free parking and free use of an on-site large gym.
Hours
37.5 hours a week mainly working Monday to Friday 8-4 or 8.30-4.30pm with some weekend cover when required.
Salary
You’ll receive an annual salary up to £46,420 per annum depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Deputy Mental Health Lead (Senior Nurse), your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
* Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
* Assess patient’s health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
* Ensure that you assess the physical and mental health of prisoners on admission to the prison and throughout their period of custody so that any appropriate referral can be made.
* Be responsible for making a clinical judgement regarding any immediate need and long-term treatment.

Qualifications required
* You will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever-changing.
* Current professional qualification (NMC) and evidence of Continued Professional Development.
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
