Join Our Team as a Project Delivery Officer!
It’s an exciting time to join the Assets Team at Cannock Chase District Council. We’re looking for a Project Delivery Officer to lead key housing projects, ensuring our homes are safe, comfortable, and well-maintained.
If you’re someone who takes ownership, solves problems, and wants to see the real impact of your work, this is a great opportunity to step up.
You will be part of a close-knit, professional team that’s passionate about delivering a first-class service for our residents. This is a new role, giving you the autonomy to help shape how we deliver our services. It’s not just a desk job—you’ll be out there making a real difference.
About Us:
Cannock Chase Council currently manages a housing portfolio of approximately 5,100 properties. We are proud to deliver both a new build programme and a planned investment programme of over £8m to repair and improve existing housing stock in order to provide a quality service and outcome for our residents.
Our relatively small stock skirts the edge of the fantastic National Landscape, Cannock Chase. We have recently secured funding to improve Cannock town centre which will complement the West Midlands Designer Outlet Village situated a 5 minute drive away.
Cannock Chase Council are committed to the climate emergency and have ambitious plans to significantly reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency.
What you will be doing:
A typical day for you could include:
* Delivering major housing projects—from kitchen and bathroom upgrades to external refurbishments, disabled adaptations, and retrofit schemes.
* Keeping projects on track—managing timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
* Liaising with contractors, legal teams, compliance officers, and internal departments to ensure efficient and compliant project delivery.
* Carrying out site inspections—monitoring contractor performance and resolving any issues.
* Engaging with customers—keeping them informed and ensuring minimal disruption during works.
You will play a key role in delivering safe, comfortable, affordable, and sustainable homes for our customers. You will be actively supported to network with other social housing providers and construction professionals.
About You:
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, who is self-motivated with a “can do” attitude.
Essential requirements for this role include:
* Experience managing projects in housing, construction, or a related field.
* Knowledge and experience of working within an environment delivering planned maintenance and upgrade works.
* A strong understanding of building compliance and safety (fire safety, gas, electrical, asbestos, damp & mould, etc.).
* Strong problem-solving skills – you’ll be making decisions and keeping projects moving.
* Good communication and IT skills – you’ll be recording and reporting key project details.
* A minimum of HNC Level or equivalent qualification in a Construction or Building related subject.
* GCSE’s in Mathematics and English at Grade C or above or equivalent vocational or academic experience.
STRICTLY NO AGENCIES, RECRUITERS OR MARKETING AGENCIES.
