We’re looking for a Head of Operations to join our team in, Spalding, UK. The Head of Operations – UK is accountable for leading all operational services across the UK, including warehousing, quality control, quality assurance, maintenance, ripening, and packhouse operations. This role is integral to achieving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and aligning operations with the company’s strategic objectives. The Head of Operations plays a key role in fostering collaboration across sites, optimising efficiency, and driving continuous improvement to support Westfalia Fruit’s position as a leader in the fresh produce industry. Responsibilities include: Develop and implement strategic operational plans aligned with the company’s objectives across UK sites. Provide leadership to site and operational managers, ensuring consistency and alignment with global strategy. Oversee daily operations of UK sites to ensure efficiency, budget adherence, and performance targets are met. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality. Lead the implementation and optimisation of the MS D365 ERP system across UK operations. Collaborate with finance to set budgets, monitor expenditure, and enforce cost-control measures. Analyse financial and operational data to inform strategic decisions and ensure profitability. Oversee recruitment, training, and development to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce. Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability, ensuring high team performance. Monitor performance against operational OKRs and report on achievements, challenges, and recommendations. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, representing the company to enhance its reputation. Identify and mitigate operational risks while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining contingency plans. Requirements Essential Experience, Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role, preferably within the fresh produce or FMCG industry. In-depth knowledge of warehousing, quality control, and production processes. Strong understanding of operational laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Experience with ERP systems, particularly MS D365, and their implementation. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement. Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Desirable Experience, Qualifications & Skills Experience working within a multinational environment. Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Knowledge of sustainability practices within the fresh produce industry.
