Salary: NJC Grade 9 £35,235 to £37,938 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, full time
Location: Countywide with a focused locality, plus hybrid working. Your base location can be from either County Hall North Horsham, or Bridge House Worthing.
Please note: You must be able to travel throughout the County including to locations that are not always accessible by public transport. There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public.

We are looking for an engaging individual to join our Careers and Post-16 Support Team as a Careers Adviser.
As a Careers Adviser, you will provide support, advice, and guidance for young people, to help raise their aspirations in training, further education, and employment. You will be working with young people who face barriers to progressing further, some of whom are vulnerable and in challenging situations.
You will work closely with employers, education and training providers, and agencies, acting as a professional representative for the Service. As a Careers Adviser, you will be responsible for promoting the County Council's Careers Traded Service offer to schools, and you will be responsible for small expenditures from an agreed budget.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Advocating for young people.
* Assessing young peoples needs and implementing packages of career interventions.
* Using your professional knowledge to negotiate and work collaboratively with a range of providers and other professionals.
* Providing short- and long-term individualised planning, guidance, and support.
* Maintaining accurate records, confidentiality, and security of all information.
* Keeping up to date with child protection and safeguarding practices.
We are looking for someone who is flexible in their approach, who can engage and motivate young people. You will be working independently as well as part of a team, where you will need to be resourceful, resilient, and open-minded.
