To lead the molecular testing referrals service for the Histopathology department. To be an active part of the BMS dissection team and assist in the training of others. Assist in the provision of reliable and accurate analytical data for the Trust, in accordance with ISO15189 standards and to be responsible for the organisation and management of the section. To act as part of the B7 Senior BMS team within Histopathology, providing senior level advice and support, helping to deputise for the Histopathology Operational Manager as required. To participate in a monthly rota to Histopathology department on the main QAH site to attend quality, governance and health & safety meetings and provide a service update to line management To maintain all associated departmental records, invoicing and documentation related to Molecular Testing. To ensure that all staff that work in the Molecular Testing service are fully trained and competent, and are aware of current policies and procedures regarding the molecular service. To ensure that all staff are aware of current policies and procedures regarding Molecular Testing and Referrals. To represent the department at meetings and updates involving Molecular Testing and Referrals. To act as a liaison between the department and the Trust Research and Development team, advising on departmental involvement in clinical trials and research projects. To function within a core team of senior Biomedical Scientists and participate in staff supervision, training, performance reviews and absence management.
