XRay/CT Tech
JOB SUMMARY:
To perform exams in the Radiology Department, as ordered by the attending physician. This may include X-rays, CT, and/or EKG exams. Technologist must also alternate night and weekend call with other technologists unless other arrangements have been made.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology School.
2. Must be registered as a current member of the ARRT, or registry eligible.
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
4. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performing the day-to-day exams of the Radiology Department. This includes X-ray, CT, and EKG exams.
2. To be knowledgeable and proficient in the areas of x-ray, CT and EKG exams.
3. If additional training is necessary, technologist must be willing to attend educational classes and/or training within the area of need. This includes the need for additional training due to advanced technology in the Radiology fields to keep current in the medical field.
4. Promote and maintain a professional, efficient, productive, and friendly atmosphere for patients, co-workers, and physicians.
5. Maintain diagnostic imaging equipment and materials.
6. Positioning patients for diagnostic imaging examinations.
7. Advising and supporting patients.
8. Following physician order to ensure accuracy of image capture.
9. Shielding patients from unnecessary exposure to X-rays or radiation.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work area is mainly in the Radiology Department, but may include Acute Care, Long Term Nursing Care, Emergency Room, Surgery, and Clinic. Age of patients varies from neonates to geriatrics. The department is staffed 10 hours per day with on-call after regular hours during the week and/or weekends.
ARRT R, CT and ND License needed, willing to offer without ND licensure but must obtain prior to start. General x Ray and CT. Must be able to start IVs.
