Job overview
This varied and proactive administrative role will support the Haematology Admin service to deliver best practice, clinical care to Haematology patients across HHFT.
This role will provide administrative and data support to the team to ensure that the clinicians are spending as much time with patients as possible. This role will be pivotal in developing, managing and maintaining a Haematology database which will be used to deliver safe and effective acute oncology services.
The day-to-day function of the role will include booking appointments, and subsequent follow-up appointments, E-outcoming clinic's, and any other data entry as and when required.
Main duties of the job
1. To book all appointments including telephone and face-to-face into the patient booking system, e-outcome all clinics, ensuring any actions are completed and patients are discharged appropriately.
2. Typing and checking clinic letters.
3. To take and manage incoming e-referrals to the team, ensuring that they are passed to the appropriate clinician within a timely manner.

Qualifications
* Passes in both English & Maths GCSE or Equivalent
* European Computer driving licence or valid computer skills course
Experience & Knowledge
* Proven track record on delivering performance deadlines. Admin & clerical experience including using computers for data entry.
* Experience of working in an NHS environment or Cancer Services
Skills & Ability
* Excellent communication skills. Excellent administration skills. Able to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time. Good reasoning, analysing and decision-making skills, using a variety of resources. Able to work effectively in teams ensuring good relationships with peers and a strong team working ethic. Able to prioritise and manage a heavy pressurised workload in a target-driven environment.
* Excellent written and verbal skills for report writing and presenting work. Skilled at working with different stakeholders including patients, staff, managers and clinicians.
