An iconic local government organisation in the heart of London is looking for a skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join their Corporate Health & Safety team. This role offers the chance to deliver expert guidance, ensure compliance, and promote safer environments for staff and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Advisor:
1. Provide expert health, safety, and fire advice to meet legal and corporate standards across a varied estate.
2. Develop and maintain policies, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
3. Monitor legislative updates and advise on practical applications.
4. Conduct audits, inspections, and investigations to drive continuous improvement.
5. Support managers in effectively managing workplace risks.
6. Analyse performance metrics and prepare detailed reports.
7. Lead initiatives to foster a positive safety culture.
8. Collaborate with stakeholders, including Trade Unions, to enhance safety practices.
Ideal Health and Safety Advisor will have:
1. NEBOSH National General Certificate and Fire Safety Certificate.
2. Strong knowledge of legislation, management systems, and risk assessment.
3. Proven experience in health and safety management within complex organizations (ideally local government).
4. Excellent communication and influencing skills.
5. Proactive and creative in promoting health and safety awareness.
