We are currently working with a very high profile international client who is a leading facilities management provider in the UK. They require an experienced Chef Manager for a contract catering operation just outside of Newcastle.
This is a permanent role paying £30,000 to £32,000 pa. Hours are based on working Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend if required. You will manage the chef brigade ensuring that the team provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the site clientele.
It is crucial that you are comfortable following spec lists for meal preparation and fully understand all relevant health & safety food hygiene requirements. There is a high level of paperwork required for this role, and you must therefore be computer literate and understand the key processes relating to health & safety, budgeting, forecasting, and kitchen audits. With this in mind, you must have a Food Hygiene Certificate minimum level 2, preferably level 3.
As this is a security-focused site, it is preferable that you are already in possession of a basic DBS certificate. You will be contracted to a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week, mainly Monday to Friday with some weekend work. Hours of work will be an 8-hour shift between 6am and 8pm.
