Aircraft Structures Engineer – Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) role involves leading engineering analysis tasks and mentoring colleagues to develop knowledge and skills in structural analysis.
BAE Systems' Advanced Aerostructures team is seeking a skilled engineer to work on modern military air platforms, assessing fatigue and damage tolerance calculations and ensuring structural design meets certification requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Defining and carrying out engineering analysis tasks and mentoring colleagues
* Reviewing and approving work done by less experienced colleagues
* Ensuring effective interactions between team members, suppliers, and customers
* Carrying out analysis of structure fatigue and damage tolerance calculations
* Assessing F&DT implications of modifications and repairs to in-service aircraft
Requirements:
* STEM-related degree or relevant aerospace engineering experience
* Familiarity with structural fatigue and fracture mechanics, dynamics, vibration, and acoustic effects analysis methods
* Good understanding of classical structural analysis techniques and methods
* Experience in using and applying structural analysis tools such as Nastran etc.
* Demonstrable experience of Aircraft Structural Engineering and the application of F&DT analysis
