Due to retirement Driffield Northfield Infant School is seeking an inspirational and dynamic Assistant Headteacher & SENCO to join our supportive and forward-thinking leadership team from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our pupils, drive curriculum excellence, and lead on inclusion and safeguarding in our nurturing and inclusive environment.

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced leader who can:
* Act as SENCO, overseeing SEND provision, leading interventions, and working collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies.
* Serve as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection across the school.
* Lead on curriculum development, particularly in EYFS and Key Stage 1, to inspire outstanding teaching and learning.
* Manage and support the pastoral team and SEN TAs, ensuring effective deployment and professional development.
* Teach across all year groups as needed, modelling outstanding practice in the classroom. This will include teaching commitment across all year groups.
* Uphold and promote the school's vision, ethos, and values, fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment for all.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will:
* Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven leadership experience.
* Hold or be willing to undertake the National Professional Qualification for SENCOs.
* Have extensive knowledge of the EYFS and Key Stage 1 curriculum frameworks and the flexibility to teach across all year groups.
* Demonstrate in-depth safeguarding knowledge and experience, with the ability to handle sensitive child protection matters as Deputy DSL.
* Be a strategic thinker with strong organisational skills, able to inspire and motivate others.
* Show a genuine passion for inclusion, well-being, and ensuring every child thrives.
