The Role
We have a new exciting opportunity at Thales Underwater Systems for a Quality Inspector to work within our Towed Array manufacturing cell based in Templecombe.
This individual will be responsible for ensuring that the product we deliver meets the established quality standard and customer requirements by conducting inspections, tests, and audits throughout the product line process.
This role is critical in maintaining high quality standards and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
* Support Production Manager to identify and execute improvement activities within the manufacturing cell.
* Inspecting goods.
* Identifying and logging faults.
* Checking documentation for accuracy and compliance to internal and external standards.
* Ensuring any production tooling used was compliant.
* Undertaking compliance audits.
* Conducting self-audits for the purposes of continuous improvement.
* Updating procedures and providing support to engineering.
* Survey of units returned for modification and/or repair.
* Focus on time delivery (OTD) as set by Industrial planning and APRU Manager.
About you:
This role would be ideal for an individual passionate about maintaining high-quality standards and contributing to the success of manufacturing operations.
In addition:
* Knowledge and/or understanding of quality control techniques and standards in a manufacturing environment.
* High level of attention to detail and the ability to take initiative and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings.
* Must be able to apply sound reasoning and logic to problems, coupled with understanding of wiring and assembly techniques.
This role will require SC Clearance.
It would be advantageous if currently held; however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
