If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our next Senior Logistics Planning Manager here at Hinkley Point C The Opportunity As a key leader, the Senior Logistics Planning Manager will oversee and drive logistics planning across the entire logistics organisation. This role is pivotal in coordinating the demand for logistics services in alignment with the 120-month project plan, working closely with Logistics Operations and Construction teams to address and mitigate constraints and risks. You will lead and manage the Logistics Planning Team, including the Capacity Management Leads and Logistics Analysts. Supporting the Head of Logistics, you’ll play a central role in shaping the project’s logistics strategy, policies, and standards. By proactively aligning logistics demand—such as inbound materials from suppliers and outbound deliveries to site—with available capacity, you will identify and resolve capacity constraints, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time and place. Your leadership will be key in optimising logistics capacity utilisation to keep the project on track. What you will be doing You'll collaborate with the Senior Construction Logistics Manager and Senior Logistics Operations Manager to develop a feasible logistics plan that addresses capacity constraints. Working with the Head of Logistics, you'll recommend a long-term logistics baseline and manage the Logistics Capacity leads to ensure accurate data inputs into the plan. You'll also partner with functional data owners to maintain data accuracy and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics partners. By fostering communication within the team, you'll optimise planning activities and support KPI reporting on logistics planning capability. Additional responsibilities include: • Define the Logistics capacity baseline plan for delivering services in alignment with the Project plan. • Identify and highlight key risks and issues that may impact the long-term logistics planning horizon (Product Lifecycle Management). • Responsible for updating the logistics capacity plan, consolidating inputs from various sources. • Lead the identification, communication, and management of risks, gaps, and changes to the plan, coordinating actions and escalations for identified constraints. • Ensure integration of logistics into the Integrated Planning process and governance. • Manage logistics capacity and constraints across long, mid, and short-term planning horizons. • Chair the Logistics Capacity Planning meeting, reviewing 4- and 16-week logistics plans and addressing constraints. • Monitor and support the mitigation action plan to ensure resolution of identified risks or constraints. Who you are With a strong delivery focus, you excel at influencing stakeholders and driving results through data analysis and logistics planning. You have in-depth knowledge of logistics and planning methodologies, along with a solid understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction methods in the UK. Experienced in NEC and FIDIC contracts, you also possess strong skills in logistics risk analysis and decision-making. Your exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, paired with attention to detail, enable you to manage complex projects. You build strong relationships, applying expertise in scheduling, change management, and risk management to ensure successful project delivery. Additional requirements for this role include: • Extensive experience in warehouse and logistics operations, offering valuable insights into operational requirements • Highly skilled in logistics planning and operations, particularly for major capital projects in construction or related industries • Strong technical data management expertise • Proficient in data analytics, with a keen ability to identify patterns and constraints • Deep understanding of the integrated planning process • Clear and effective communicator, adept at escalating and gathering feedback on logistics capacity and constraints from internal and external teams • Familiar with using Supplier Portal for data extraction • Skilled at simplifying complex issues for both technical and non-technical senior audiences We’re looking for you to utilise your experience with a degree in a relevant field or background in logistics and supply chain planning, especially in highly regulated sectors like nuclear, aerospace, or energy, you have led teams in complex projects, influencing multiple stakeholders. Your experience with logistics and planning frameworks has enabled you to apply these methodologies effectively in major infrastructure projects. You're also an expert in planning technology solutions, successfully managing their implementation and delivery. Your leadership has been crucial in driving team performance and fostering collaboration across integrated project teams.
