Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our recovery team in cardiac and neuro theatres. The successful applicant will be joining a small and friendly team, who are providing an excellent care to post operative adults and children patients who underwent neuro, cardiac, thoracic, general, renal & urology, ENT & max-fax or gyne procedures. We are looking for someone with either recovery or neuro ward/neuro ITU experience who are keen to enhance their skills and to support the 24hrs post anaesthetic care we provide in our theatres. The applicant must be able to provide expert, evidence based care to our patients, you will be required to support patients in the post operative environment. You will be expected to supervise and mentor junior members of staff/ new starters. The applicant must be motivated and enthusiastic with a passion for providing high quality care to patients at all times. Main duties of the job Provide an excellent nursing care, be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. Prepare a safe recovery environment for each shift, ensuring all necessary stock, medication and emergency equipment are available Supervise junior members of the team ensuring a a positive learning environment enhancing high standards of care. In the absence of a senior recovery practitioner take charge of a recovery ensuring the smooth running of the day.
