The Health, Safety & Environment Specialist executes a range of technical, strategic, and administrative activities of the HSE function, ensuring regulatory HSE compliance, development of HSE systems, processes and programmes, enabling operational excellence and safeguarding employees and communities.
What you’ll be doing
1. Audit: Planning and managing the internal and external audit programme as well as audit findings.
2. Incident Reporting: Recording, tracking and reporting incidents and identifying trends and corrective actions.
3. Engagement: Defining and delivering great EMS engagement internally, across the business; this includes BT wide employee engagement on environmental matters.
4. Training Manager: Ownership of the end to end process of training courses and materials, such as mandatory courses.
5. Customer Champion: Establishes customer needs, uses operational and technical expertise to deliver brilliant experiences.
6. Commercial Thinker: Uses understanding of internal commercial insight and latest external thinking to develop and implement ideas that benefit BT.
7. Collaborative Partner: Maintains internal and external relationships, collaborating both operationally and technically to deliver business results.
The skills you'll need
1. Extensive knowledge of ISO Management Standards, in particular ISO14001 Environmental Management System and ISO50001 Energy Management System.
2. Knowledge of audit programmes, findings management and incident reporting.
3. Confidence to work independently across all levels of management and across all lines of business.
4. Risk management: Act as a subject matter expert in identifying, assessing and responding to risks.
5. Good knowledge of Excel to manipulate data associated with audit findings and incidents.
6. Implementing and/or operating within ISO14001 and ISO50001.
7. Stakeholder management and engagement.
