Job description The Piping Calculations Team carry out the various calculations that underpin the piping design. This requires a close link with Paris based teams carrying out similar activities. It is important that this person maintains and develops strong links with the various interfacing teams to understand the processes, procedures, ways of working, key stakeholders and assumptions for future activities. This role will cover a critical period for EPR-E: finish off the rework of the piping design after HO1 for HPC project by focusing the team on the resolution of HPC post handover open points, managing the issuance of the final piping calculation documentation, develop a pipeline of competence to feed JDO needs, and develop the competence within the team in preparation for the SZC activities in line with the UK localisation strategy. As a Piping Calculation Group Leader, you will: - Ensure that the team delivers their scope of work to budget, schedule and quality; - Work alongside Building Managers and MEH deputy to ensure that the required calculations delivery is performed in accordance with the relevant processes; - Ensure the team delivers the relevant calculation notes and other key documents; - Have good awareness of configuration management on the HPC project and its impact on delivery; - Manage the schedule (including some PALADIN activities) for the scope of work of PEC; - Development of competencies within the team considering future activities; - Closely working with upstream and downstream designers to ensure overall efficient delivery of EPRE scope; - Build effective relationships with the Client and Execution design to support through the next stages of the project; - Develop the competencies within the team to reflect this change of activity. Particular emphasis will be placed on change control, configuration management, and understanding the consequences of change on interfacing designs, and downstream activities (i.e. manufacturing, site activities, etc); - Ensure that piping calculation methods are well understood and applied within EPRE, JDO and SZC teams, and that technical lessons learned are shared widely. Profile Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills - Knowledge of piping design processes, design procedures, engineering rules, - Experience with managing small to medium sized teams, - Ability to set, achieve and maintain high standards of safety and quality - Substantial experience of applying specialist technical knowledge to complex problems and communicating the outcome with a range of stakeholders of varying backgrounds. - Considerable experience of managing a range of stakeholders and will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of influencing and negotiating - Excellent negotiation, communication and people engagement skills - Strong project controls skills, comfortable managing schedules and budgets for the team activities, - Ability to manage a wide set of geographically dispersed stakeholders, - Ability to manage, oversee, and review a sub-contractors design Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills. - Familiar with the EPR design, - Capable of motivating a team through change, - Knowledge of NPE/NPS requirements with respect to piping design, - Experience delivering piping design / calculations within EDVANCE or EPR-E, - Knowledge of the wider EDF France teams and key stakeholders.
