You'll oversee day-to-day production, handle scheduling, resolve issues, and guide a small team through the challenges of a precision machining and foundry environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic business at the forefront of its industry, where your contributions will have a direct impact on growth and success.\n\nWorking Hours:\n\nMonday to Thursday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM\n\nFriday 7:00 AM -12:30PM\n\nKey Duties of the Production Manager:\n\n * Daily Operations: Schedule and plan daily operations, ensuring production stays on track.\n\n * Production Management: Resolve issues on the shop floor to ensure adherence to timelines.\n\n * Material Oversight: Handle purchasing of raw materials and fasteners for production.\n\n * Subcontract Coordination: Manage subcontract machining and processes.\n\n * Quality Control: Perform end-of-line quality inspections, preparing reports and certifications.\n\n * NDT Inspections: Undertake ultrasonic and dye penetrant testing (training provided).\n\n * Machining Operations: Hands-on involvement with machining operations, particularly with XYZ mills and Siemens 828D.\n\n * Breakdown Management: Respond to machine breakdowns and liaise with subcontractors for repairs.\n\n * Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement in the factory.\n\n * Staff Management: Supervise and support production personnel, managing recruitment, training, and performance.\n\n * Customer Liaison: Coordinate logistics and communicate directly with customers regarding production schedules and deliveries.\n\nKey Requirements of the Production Manager\n\nExperience: Minimum 3 years in a production environment, with leadership experience.\n\nMachining Expertise: Must have experience as a machinist, preferably with milling knowledge in a precision machining setting.\n\nSoftware Proficiency: SolidWorks (or ability to learn quickly) for designing jigs, fixtures, and sketches.\n\nLeadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to drive a culture of excellence and teamwork.\n\nAutonomy: Comfortable working independently, with the ability to manage\n\nday-to-day operations and take responsibility for all aspects of the production process.\n\nProblem-Solving: Analytical, proactive, and risk-aware, with a sharp eye for potential issues and ways to mitigate them.\n\nContinuous Improvement: Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, SMED, and other process optimization methodologies.\n\nQuality & Safety: A sound understanding of quality standards, health and safety regulations, and best practices.\n\nSoftware: Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.\n\nIf you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role, enjoys the challenge of continuous improvement, and is looking to make a tangible impact within an expanding company, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
