We are a dynamic video game startup based in Cambridge, UK, dedicated to creating immersive and innovative gaming experiences. We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer (Gameplay) to join our team and help us develop and maintain our cutting-edge game technologies and systems. As a Senior Software Engineer (Gameplay) at World Makers, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems that power our online games. You will work closely with our game designers, artists and engine developers, to ensure that our online games push the capabilities of Unreal Engine. Though this is ideally a hybrid role with several days a week in the Cambridge office, we are happy to consider a fully remote role for the right candidate. Responsibilities (Gameplay) Develop and manage new features throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to final release. Develop gameplay features in C++ and blueprints whilst working closely with game designers and artists. Contribute to the game design process and react to player feedback. Work with technical artists and testers to build and iterate compelling multiplayer moments with complex animation and VFX requirements. Requirements Develop and manage new features throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to final release. Work with technical artists and testers to build and iterate compelling multiplayer moments with complex animation and VFX requirements. Bonus Skills At least 5 years of game development experience with Unreal Engine. Strong programming background and experience with using C++. Experience in creating features for a networked multiplayer game. Solid understanding of mathematical principles relevant to game development. Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders. Comfortable in working in a small, dynamic team and participating in the design process.
