A compassionate and experienced Centre Manager / Charity Leader is required to lead the operations of a long-standing community organisation based in Bradford on a full-time basis. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a vibrant and impactful charity during a period of transformation, following the merger of two established projects. With over 400 people engaging with its services every week and a 30-year legacy of community engagement, the successful candidate will be instrumental in driving forward its mission to build community, hope and opportunity. Working closely with the Board of Trustees and a dedicated staff and volunteer team, this role calls for someone who is strategic, people-focused, and driven to make a meaningful difference in a community context. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic and operational leadership across the full range of services Support the Board in developing the vision and direction of the organisation Manage and support teams delivering activities for children, youth, families, and older people Ensure excellent safeguarding practices and a welcoming, inclusive environment Maintain financial sustainability through budgeting, income generation, and grant management Build partnerships across the community and voluntary sector Ensure effective communication, impact measurement, and reporting Maintain organisational systems, policies, and legal compliance Lead the Centre’s operations with compassion, professionalism and adaptability Required Skills: Proven experience in leading within the charity or voluntary sector Strong leadership and team management skills Experience of overseeing budgets, fundraising and partnership working Skilled in delivering community services to one or more key groups (e.g. youth, families, older adults) Strategic mindset with operational competence Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Strong understanding of safeguarding and governance in voluntary settings Capable of working independently, collaboratively and under pressure Personal Attributes: Warm, compassionate, and inclusive leadership style Proactive and solution-focused mindset Effective time management and organisational skills A positive, enthusiastic outlook with resilience to navigate change Passion for community transformation and social justice This is a fantastic opportunity to join a trusted and beloved community organisation and help guide it into its next chapter.
