To administer all commercial aspects of allocated multidisciplinary rail projects from inception through to final account, delivering maximum financial return.
Key Objectives
1. Commercially support to and engender commercial best practice across the whole project team.
2. Proactively identify and manage the time and money implications of project change.
3. Support on contractual matters via in depth understanding of the Contract and its implications for profit delivery.
4. Develop, support and actively facilitate and participate in rigorous cost controls including early warning systems.
5. Provide project procurement support to ensure project is delivered safely, timely, at least cost and to optimal quality.
6. Deliver contractually agreed cash flow.
7. Assist with the negotiation and agreement of contractual disputes and final accounts.
Qualifications and Experience Required
1. Quantity surveying qualification preferred, Accountancy qualification or relevant experience.
2. Experience of working with a Costs system.
3. Understanding of all rail disciplines and interface management.
4. Previous experience working on construction projects.
5. Ideally knowledge of contract procedures and administration including NEC, ICE, MF/1 and JCT.
6. Experience or knowledge of negotiation.
7. Good Microsoft Package skills – Word and Excel.
8. Ideally experience of working for a contractor in a client facing environment.
