Job Title: Sports Coach
Salary: TA4, Grade F Points 17-23
Working Pattern: 12.00noon 5.30pm (27.5 hours. Term Time plus 5 days)
Contract: 12 Month Temporary Contract with possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.
Start Date: 1 September 2025 or sooner if possible

The role:
This position is a role in three parts, each equally as important as the other.
St Stephen & All Martyrs’ is a happy school at the heart of the community, with a close-knit family feel. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Sports Coach who wants to become part of our supportive and enthusiastic staff team.
Responsibilities:
1. During the lunchtime period, deliver inspiring and engaging sporting activities to small groups of children.
2. During the afternoon, deliver inspiring and engaging PE lessons to whole classes throughout the school.
3. After School, plan and deliver sporting activities, experiences, and opportunities for our children. This role will also require the right candidate to support colleagues in providing snacks and refreshments to our children.
You must be able to:
1. Demonstrate you are an excellent practitioner with high expectations of children’s achievements and standards in all areas of school life.
2. Use your skills and knowledge to plan, deliver, and assess PE lessons throughout the school.
3. Use your skills and knowledge to plan and deliver sporting activities throughout the school.
4. Demonstrate an understanding of the role; a minimum of 2 years recent experience in a school or equivalent is essential.
5. Deliver the role with energy and enthusiasm.
6. Relate well to children and build relationships.
7. Help children to achieve their best.
8. Actively engage children in their learning.
9. Liaise with parents and other professionals effectively.
10. Work as a member of a team and take responsibility.
11. Prepare and serve a simple hot snack.
12. Use your own initiative.
13. Have strong behaviour management strategies linked with the school’s behaviour policy.
